NFL News: Saints Coach Haslett fired

Every year is a tough year to be a Saints fan. This has been an especially tough year for the Saints given what’s happened to New Orleans.
This wasn’t a huge surprise, though.

As with everything, coaching is about wins and losses not about sympathy from hurricane disasters. From reports, it looks like it was pretty much a mutual decision, which you can kind of see. Haslett’s been there 6 years and hasn’t turned it around yet. Then again, 30 years of football hasn’t turned it around for the Saints, but I digress…

Many other coaches fired today too, though.

Rudkin said on the Web site that he considered taping a flare to a cooking gas canister, “and trying to shoot it Jaws style, but thought better of it.”

Now THAT would have been cool to watch.

Another Fantasy Season in the Tank

We had our Super Bowl this week for the 3 company leagues that I’ve been organizing, and now we have a winner.

I didn’t even make the playoffs - ah well.  Time to wait until next year …
