Scoble points to Performancing for Firefox
Scobleizer - Microsoft Geek Blogger ยป Performancing for Firefox adds tools for blogging
I use JustBlogIt now. It does a pop-up which is quick and simple. This new Performancing plugin feels too heavyweight to me. Maybe it will grow on me.
The default post window for the plugin comes up and allows you to choose all our blog sites. Is that the most natural default for most people? I would have rather seen my category list:

Oh yeah, one more nit. I like using right-click to get to a context menu in order to execute an action. Normally plug-ins add their functions to the bottom of the context menu. Performancing added theirs to the top. They also hid their functions behind their company name. Given there is only one option on this menu, I wished they had just added this to the bottom — it would have been much more convenient.
I did find if you leave the plugin on your category list, and then close the plugin… when you use it again it will open again on your category list. This is good. I’m intrigued enough to leave it in for now. This is 1.0 so maybe they will improve it over time.

Performancing is a nice add-in. I hear you that you’re interested in something lightweight, so this is just FYI for your readers. For a more advanced blog editor, check out RocketPost:
http://www.anconia.com/rocketpost
It has built-in photo editing, spell checking, auto linking to related posts, Technorati/Delicious tags, AutoCorrect, and lots more. (I designed it.)
