eBay will be Changing Store Inventory Durations
eBay Changing Store Inventory Durations
Previously, you could list store items using 30, 60, 90, 120, or “Good Until Canceled”. In a couple of weeks 60, 90, and 120 are going away…
We do find that most sellers are simply using 30.
Given the dizzying array of options you can choose when you list an item on eBay, simplifying might be a good thing in certain areas.

That’s interesting, I wonder why most sellers don’t use GTC? Seems like that would be the least hassle.

I think most sellers don’t want to tie up their stuff that long in one place. Yeah they can take it down but they way most listing services work, it’s easier to post a new auction than take down an existing auction.
Just a guess.

To be clear, most people do use GTC over the 30 day. To Jeff’s point it’s much less hassle. People don’t enjoy managing inventory, let alone listings. GTC allows them to keep inventory/listings up on eBay for the lowest amount of management time per listing as possible.
Nice blog. Ro pointed me this way a few weeks ago and I’ve been keeping tabs since.
